A Classic City Spot

So Ms. Wiwin told us that we needed to blog about a spot in Bandung. The first thought that came to my mind was Yoghurt Cisangkuy.

I have been coming here since I was a little kid. I remember going there with my big family and I ordered french fries and sauseges, also fresh milk. I actually forgot what it tasted like, but I will always remember how fresh milk tastes like because well, it always tastes the same anytime anywhere. I reaaaaaaallllyyyyy love cold plain fresh milk. Or sometimes with a dash of sugar. The weird think is that I don’t like pasteurized milk, or skimmed milk, or condensed milk that much. And I don’t like flavours in my milk. But sometimes I’d have my fresh milk combined with mocca syrup.

Well anyway, I came here on Thurday, May 21 2015 with my friend. This is pretty much what you’ll see on the entrance.

And here’s the menu:

As you can guess already, I ordered french fries and sauseges, and cold plain fresh milk. My friend ordered lychee yoghurt. French fries and sauseges costed IDR 25,000, Fresh milk costed IDR 13,000 and Lychee yoghurt costed IDR 15,000.

We chose to sit outside because the weather was nice.

As for the fresh milk, it is absolutely… I wouldn’t call it tasty because honestly it’s plain. But I definitely love it, I tasted purity and freshness and I found comfort on my tongue. I just really love fresh milk that much! What I like more about it is the ice cubes. Trust me, you gotta love ice cubes. Don’t you just love the icy cold feeling in your mouth? I’ve always loved ice cubes. So this is a no doubt one of my favorites drink to be my daily needs, only if I could.

The french fries and sauseges… I gotta say it’s kind of a disappointment. I mean a dish this classic and simple costs 25k for me just doesn’t make sense. But anyway I love classic thing so much. This wedge potatoes with sauseges and barbecue sauce and garnished with cucumber, tomato and lettuce is just pure classic. I like the potatoes but I’m not quite sure about the sauseges. The sauce is really strong and sour so I just dipped the tip of my potatoes/sauseges when I ate them,

I asked to taste the lychee yoghurt from my friend, it was sour of course. It’s got an actual lychee in it. I would love to eat it.

That was my trip to an old and classic restaurant Yoghurt Cisangkuy. I’m sure I’ll keep coming here for my favorite fresh milk.

Beyonce - Blue (ft. Blue Ivy)

[Verse 1:]
Sometimes these walls seem to cave in on me
When I look in your eyes, I feel alive
Some days we say words that don't mean a thing
But when you holding me tight, I feel alive

[Hook:]
Make it last forever
Come on baby won't you hold on to me, hold on to me
You and I together
Come on baby won't you hold on to me, hold on to me

[Verse 2:]
Each day I feel so blessed to be looking at you
Cause when you open your eyes, I feel alive
My heart beats so damn quick when you say my name
When I'm holding you tight, I'm so alive
Now let's just live it up

[Hook 2x]

[Bridge 2x:]
We gotta hold on, I gotta hold on
You've got to hold on, you've got a hold on, a hold on to me

[Hook]

[Outro — Blue Ivy:]
Hold on to me, hold on
Bee-sy-ay, bee-sy-ay, bee-sy-ay
Mommy mommy mommy!
Can we see daddy?
Can we see daddy?
Miss you daddy...

This song is about the love of a mother to her daughter. This song was particularly made for Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z's daughter.
Beyoncé dedicates her first song to her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, born in 2012. Bey’s husband and Blue’s father Jay Z has previously dedicated two songs to his daughter, “Glory” and “Jay Z Blue”. Blue’s appearance on the former made her the youngest Billboard charting artist ever, and possibly the youngest featured artist with a Rap Genius profile.

Beyoncé has given her only child - who turns two on January 7 - the starring role in newly-released single Blue (Featuring Blue Ivy) off her visual self-titled album, which was released online on Thursday.'It could last forever; Come on baby won't you hold on to me, hold on to me,' the songstress sings in the melodic tune.

Covert operation: The songstress surprised fans as she released her self-titled fifth studio album in its entirety along with 17 videos on Thursday, exclusive to iTunes
While so far only snippets of the accompanying clip have been released, the genetically-blessed youngster is seen being held in her doting mother's arms as she strolls barefoot along a beach path.
The video, which is said to have been shot in Rio de Janeiro, features a beautiful tropical vista complete with local children playing a dancing in the streets and on the beach.

In my opinion, this song is really cute and full of love that makes me want to have my own daughter. This song helps me know how mothers feel towards her children. And it is just so beautiful to know that feeling. Plus the tunes are calming and I love love love the piano. I actually just want to hug my mom right now!

"Each day I feel so blessed to be looking at you
Cause when you open your eyes, I feel alive
My heart beats so damn quick when you say my name
When I'm holding you tight, I'm so alive"

AREN'T THEY THE CUTEST LYRICS EVER?

I feel a love so deep towards this lyrics because it is so emotional and Beyonce really seemed like she's so grateful for her daughter and I definitely think that when I'm a mother, I will feel the same.

DEWA ATHENA

On Saturday, February 21 2015, SMAN 3 Bandung presented an opening of the event "DEWA ATHENA". DEWA ATHENA is a sport competition among students of SMAN 3 Bandung and it will be held for about 6 weeks. The competition includes: basketball, futsal, ping pong, dodgeball, badminton, tug of war, and marathon. The opening for DEWA ATHENA is an event called mini color run. So we basically have to run, the route is from Lapangan Bali - Jalan Banda - Taman Ade Irma Nasution - Lapangan Bali. We all run together, the x graders and xi graders.

The first thing that we did is we gathered ourselves at Lapangan Bali.

We lined up, and listened to speeches by the principal, the student body president, and the chief executive of DEWA ATHENA. After that was the symbolic torch handover to the torch runner.

The torch runner then ran followed by  the participants of DEWA ATHENA.

I was one of the committees so I didn't have to run. I rode a motorbike with Mevi to capture the participants. They all wore with shirt except the sportmen and sportwomen. Sportmen and Sportwomen are models representing their class's own jersey. So they wore their class's jersey.

After the route is all passed by, we came back to Lapangan Bali and welcomed by some committees with bottles of color paint+water in it. They sprayed all the participants who ran pass them. There were various colors on their shirts. Some got green, pink, yellow, blue, orange, and others. That's why the name is color run. We then took a break. My class took pictures and just casually hung out.

After the color run, we all gathered again and finally the competition started. It was opened by BM Cup (Belitung Muda Cup). Belitung Muda is an extracurricular for people who love soccer/futsal. And then, the competition continued. Dodgeball and badminton were held at Bangsal, Basketball and Futsal were held at Basketball Field, Tug of War was held at the Big Field, and marathon was held at the jogging track. Oh, ping pong is the only sport that's not played at Lapangan Bali. Ping pong's held at Koridor SMAN 3&5 Bandung.

I was told to do live report about some of the competition, so I captured the moments with my phone and sent it to DEWA ATHENA's Line. The live report was shared to DEWA ATHENA's official Line so that every student can see it. My class, X IPA 3 or TRIPLEX's schedule was Marathon, Tug of War and Futsal (Girls). The marathon was played at 10:50 versus X IPA 7 and we lost. Tug of War was played at 11:30 versus X IPA 7. Sadly, we lost. I didn't play nor watch them play because I had to live report about other competition. And then when it was Futsal (girls), I didn't play too because I had to live report my own class. We played at 14:10 versus XI IPA 4. And unfortunately we lost the match. It was okay because at least we had fun and got to show our really nice jersey off. Well I didn't wear my Triplex Jersey, I wore DEWA ATHENA T-Shirt.

DEWA ATHENA was exhausting, I bought like 3 cups of Iced Tea. But then again, it was fun.

SUPERNOVA

What Is a Supernova?
September 4, 2013
A supernova is the explosion of a star. It is the largest explosion that takes place in space.

Where Do Supernovas Take Place?
Supernovas are often seen in other galaxies. But supernovas are difficult to see in our own Milky Way galaxy because dust blocks our view. In 1604, Johannes Kepler discovered the last observed supernova in the Milky Way. NASA’s Chandra telescope discovered the remains of a more recent supernova. It exploded in the Milky Way more than a hundred years ago.
What Causes a Supernova?
A supernova happens where there is a change in the core, or center, of a star. A change can occur in two different ways, with both resulting in a supernova.
The first type of supernova happens in binary star systems. Binary stars are two stars that orbit the same point. One of the stars, a carbon-oxygen white dwarf, steals matter from its companion star. Eventually, the white dwarf accumulates too much matter. Having too much matter causes the star to explode, resulting in a supernova.
The second type of supernova occurs at the end of a single star’s lifetime. As the star runs out of nuclear fuel, some of its mass flows into its core. Eventually, the core is so heavy that it cannot withstand its own gravitational force. The core collapses, which results in the giant explosion of a supernova. The sun is a single star, but it does not have enough mass to become a supernova.

Why Do Scientists Study Supernovas?
A supernova burns for only a short period of time, but it can tell scientists a lot about the universe.
One kind of supernova has shown scientists that we live in an expanding universe, one that is growing at an ever increasing rate.
Scientists also have determined that supernovas play a key role in distributing elements throughout the universe. When the star explodes, it shoots elements and debris into space. Many of the elements we find here on Earth are made in the core of stars. These elements travel on to form new stars, planets and everything else in the universe.
How Do NASA Scientists Look for Supernovas?
NASA scientists use different types of telescopes to look for and study supernovas. Some telescopes are used to observe the visible light from the explosion. Others record data from the X-rays and gamma rays that are also produced. Both NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope and Chandra X-ray Observatory have captured images of supernovas.
In June 2012, NASA launched the first orbiting telescope that focuses light in the high-energy region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The NuSTAR mission has a number of jobs to do. It will look for collapsed stars and black holes. It also will search for the remains of supernovas. Scientists hope to learn more about how stars explode and the elements that are created by supernovas.
What Can You Do to Help?
You do not have to be a scientist, or even have a telescope, to hunt for supernovas. For example, in 2008 a teenager discovered a supernova. Then in January 2011, a 10-year-old girl from Canada discovered a supernova while looking at night sky images on her computer. The images, taken by an amateur astronomer, just happened to include a supernova.
With some practice and the right equipment, you could find the next supernova!

Words to Know:
white dwarf: a star near the end of its life that has used most or all of its nuclear fuel and collapsed into a size similar to Earth
X-ray: a type of electromagnetic radiation with a very short wavelength and very high-energy. X-rays have shorter wavelengths than ultraviolet light but longer wavelengths than gamma rays
gamma ray: the highest-energy, shortest-wavelength electromagnetic radiations

Fish and Chips, Peanut Caramel Butter Roll Pancake, and Iced Tea

This the second task that Ms. Wiwin gave us in 2015. This time’s topic is culinary. At first I honestly thought that we had to cook something and then blog it. But it turned out that all we had to do is just to blog about food. It could be your favorite food, or just simply some interesting food. Since I’m a food lover, I kind of had a hard time choosing what food I should blog about. There’s just too much good food in this world. But I finally chose my favorite cafe. I’ve been there quite often. It is Nanny’s Pavillon - Home.

Nanny’s Pavillon is this unique cafe that every branch has a different theme. We got Nanny’s Pavillon - Home; Library; and Garden (That’s what I know). Nanny’s Pavillon - Home is located on Riau street, along with other unique cafes. Nanny’s Pavillon - Home shares their land with Karnivor (basically a cafe for carnivores, duh). What I meant by land is the parking lot.

Nanny’s has a really cute interior design. Because it’s supposed to be a home, the interior matches the theme. At the front of the cafe aka the gate, you’ll be seeing this statue of a nanny. She looks old, wears glasses, and wears green nanny uniform.

Then, you’ll see the inside of Nanny’s.

The waiters and the waitresses all wear cute uniforms. The waiter wears a cap that looks like an artist’s cap, or sort of a mime’s cap. And then a long-sleeved grey stripes shirt, along with over-all black pants. The waitresses wear green nanny uniform just like the statue. At times, they will do an easy flashmob and a little singing and clapping. That’s why I’m excited to go to Nanny’s, honestly. Also the playlist is just really good. They’ll play you jazz, broadway, acoustic, and classical songs. It’s all old songs and no dubstep. It calms me.

Now it is time for me to talk about food. So I often order these stuff when I go to Nanny’s. They are Fish and Chips, Peanut Caramel Butter Roll Pancake, and Iced Tea.

The Fish and Chips is this Dory Fish dipped in bread crumbs and then fried until golden brown. It’s crispy on the outside, soft and chewy in the inside. It is seasoned with salt and pepper, also a little butter. The fish comes with a fresh cut of lemon to balance the fish. Also, the fish is accompanied with a tartar sauce. My favorite sauce of all time. Tartar sauce is basically mayonnaise + garlic + parsley + lemon juice. It is sooooooo goooooood it goes with anything either it’s seafood or simply french fries!
Because the name is Fish and Chips then obviously it’s got chips aka potato. It’s just basic french fries, from fresh potato and not the frozen one. Parsley is sprinkled on top of everything. The benefit of eating Fish and Chips is that you’ll feel less guilty eating deep-fried food because, well, it is fish. Isn’t fish supposed to be healthy?

Peanut Caramel Butter Roll Pancake. I always order this pancake. Because I simply love peanut butter and caramel. The pancake dough is so soft and moist, that you don’t have to put much effort to chew it. The pancake is rolled with peanut butter filling. The peanut butter is the chunky ones. So you can taste the crunch while eating the really soft pancake. On top of the pancake, there is a fine scoop of regular vanilla ice cream with caramel sprayed all over it. One bite is just never enough. Although if I could give suggestion to the chef, I would suggest to put salt on the caramel. It won’t make it too sweet. Peanut butter + salted caramel? I mean why not?

Last thing, it is Iced Tea. I simply love tea. Especially English Breakfast Tea aka Black Tea. It smells and tastes good. I often ask the waiter or the waitresses to separate the sugar with the tea so I can measure how much sugar I want in my tea. It won’t like it to be too sweet.
My favorite part of drinking iced drinks is that I get to eat the ice cubes after I finish my drink.

So I guess these are three of my favorite culinary. I still have tons, obviously. Anyway, toodles!

My Holiday

I am writing this on 3rd of January, clearly I have no exciting activities. My holiday is supposed to be full of watching TV and being productive whatsoever, but that is not the reality.

On the day where my report book was given to my pops, I stayed at home with a broken TV and no internet, and no cellphone as well. They came back at night. You can imagine how bored I was.
Days after the report book, I went to school again. I was playing violin with my extracurricular friends (Musik Klasik 3) to practice for our performance on Valentine's Day. It was fun, I've always loved playing the violin. And then I was off to my other extracurricular, Tiloe's Theatre. We held a big discussion to choose the emperor, the leader of Tiloe's Theatre. It took a long time, but finally it was time to elect. Grace won, she is now the leader of this extracurricular.

My holiday was pretty much spent in Bandung. Mostly I would go to malls if I'm bored. I think I could go to the mall three times a week. I have almost watched all the movies at the cinema. I have eaten so much ice cream that I don't crave it anymore. I have drunk enough Ice Blended Chocolate to make menot excited to drink it. But I'm still bored at times. So I started to watch Sherlock at home. And now I am kind of addicted to it. I've always loved mystery slash detective stories slash thriller slash crimes. They make me think. I love this Sherlock series but honestly I am not a big fan of Sherlock Holmes books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I prefer to read Agatha Christie's books. I also like Detective Conan comics. I watch CSI, Criminal Minds, and Hannibal. My mom is constantly worried that I might turn into a psychopath. Don't worry though mom I am doing pretty well. I am reading "Supernova: Knight, Princess, and Falling Star" by Dee Lestari at the moment. The movie was released not a long time ago and I kinda didn't understand the story so I decided to read the book. It was actually interesting.

On New Year's Eve, nothing exciting happened. My parents were out and my siblings were sleeping. I was accompanied by my friends through my phone. I didn't make New Year Resolutions I've never made one, I didn't have barbecues or play poker with my cousins. I didn't have the New Year spirit this year and last couple of years too. I am not bothered with it though. My holiday is 3 weeks long and it doesn't depend on whether I had a good New Year's Eve or not. And I am definitely happy with this holiday even if I don't go abroad or be together with my big family.

Anyway, my sister asked me to accompany her to Jakarta. She meant to meet her friend from Brazil and her friend from Jakarta. We went there by car with my parents because they had something to do in Jakarta as well. At first we went to Senayan City, we went to Starbucks to meet Kevin, my sister's friend. A former exchange student who went to Mexico. He was talkative and very nice. And then my sister left me to pick Leticia, her Brazilian friend up. When we all met up, we left Starbucks. Leticia was very nice and polite, she was 19, oh and she was beautiful. She came to Indonesia to help the poor. She will stay here for 2 months. I spoke english with her but her english isn't very good so mostly she spoke portuguese with my sister and spanish with Kevin. I didn't understand a thing. Well actually no, I understand just a tinee tiny bit of the spanish Kevin spoke. Thanks to Duolingo, a phone app to study foreign language and I happened to be studying spanish. We had lunch at the food court, I ordered my favorite cheesy chicken pepper rice with my sister and Leticia said she'd missed burgers so she bought Wendy's. Kevin was not hungry. We talked (mostly I was not included (included only if they talk in english)) and talked. Leticia gave me this peanut candy that I haven't eaten yet. I am a big fan of peanut though so it's all good. And then I and Leticia bought ice cream to accompany us walking to Plaza Senayan (honestly it was just across Senayan City). There, we went to Kinokuniya, a bookstore filled with imported books aka heaven on earth. We split up, I headed straight to Young Adult/Fiction Section. I found many books that I've been looking for; The Indigo Spell, The Scorch Trials, Fangirl, and many more. But I decided not to buy anything here. The books were expensive and I am not a member of this bookstore. So I just sat and read a glimpse of Anne Frank's diary. After done looking for books, we went to an Apple Store. Leticia wanted to buy a MacBook. But she didn't bought it now. And then Kevin wanted to buy cinnamon rolls so while waiting for him, we bought crepes. Chocolate ice cream for Leticia, Choco Cheese for my sister Sarah and Choco Peanut for me (I did mention I love peanut). After that Leticia wanted to go to Monas so we walked and took a busway. It was my first time riding a busway. We stopped and walked to Monas. But it was already 5:45 pm and we doubted that we could go inside. So Leticia only took pictures and was excited to meet Ondel-Ondel (and I am scared of them) and Pocong. We walked to Istiqlal because I had to pray. It was quite far but I'm okay with it. And then my parents picked us up and we had seafood for dinner. Leticia was happy because she doesn't eat seafood often in Rio. After having our tummy full, we dropped Leticia at her house, and then I didn't remember anything because I slept. What I remember is that I arrived at home in Bandung at 2 am. It was a nice trip.

I still had many things to do before going back to school. Including cleaning my messy room, finishing Sherlock, and doing my extracurricular homework(s). So then, toodles.
